Domaine des Remizières
Originally the Desmeure family were typical Rhône Valley fruit growers, their granite rich farmland planted to orchards.
Just 4ha of vines were cultivated at Domaine des Remizières and the harvest sold to the famous Cave Coop in Tain. In 1977 the decision was taken by Philippe Desmeure to vinify and bottle all the production at the domaine. Now under third generation oenologist Emilie and viticulturist Christophe, sister and brother, the domaine has grown to encompass 36ha of vineyard including prime sites of Crozes Hermitage, Hermitage, Cornas and Saint Joseph, all farmed organically. Their Syrah is typically rich with black fruits, pepper and mineral flavours encouraged by the use of concrete egg fermenters and careful use of new barrique and demi muids barrels.
