Lightweight Bottles from Picpoul de Pinet AOC

We're delighted to share some positive sustainability news from the Picpoul de Pinet AOC. The appellation has officially approved the use of lightweight "Neptune" bottles, helping producers reduce their environmental impact while maintaining the quality and presentation of the wines we know and love.
The new bottles weigh 420g, down from 540g, a reduction of over 20% in glass weight. Lighter bottles mean less raw material, lower transport emissions and a smaller carbon footprint, making them a simple but meaningful step towards more sustainable winemaking. This also represents an important step towards the ambitions of the Sustainable Wine Roundtable's Bottle Weight Accord, which encourages the adoption of lighter bottles across the wine industry to help reduce carbon emissions associated with glass production and transport.
We're already seeing the change in action. LGI has started bottling in the new lightweight Neptune bottles, and Sel et de Sable is now available in the updated format. Morin-Langaran has also confirmed that our next shipment will arrive in the lightweight bottles, so you'll begin to see more of our Picpoul de Pinet range making the switch over the coming months.
It's encouraging to see producers and appellations working together to make positive changes, and we're pleased to be able to offer these more sustainable bottles as they become available.
