Penedes is the coastal Catalan region in north eastern Spain around the vibrant city of Barcelona. The region is dominated by the Pyrenees to the north, which forms a narrow coastal strip. The mild climate is influenced by the cooling Mediterranean, with a more continental and hotter climate further inland, where the vineyards are affected by the altitude, which afford cooler climatic influences. The region is most famed for producing Cava sparkling wine, meaning `cellar` in Catalan.

Family and Terroir is at the heart of Cavas Marevia, with the name itself a reflection of MAR – Mediterranean Sea and HEVIA - the family behind the wines. The family Hevia Ferrer is a 5th Generation family winery, leading in Organic Cava production. They have vineyards in one of the best areas in Spain to grow organic grapes due to a very continental climate despite the fact of being just kilometres away from the Mediterranean Sea. They grow their grapes at high altitudes, often over 1,000m allowing for consistently healthy grapes.
Tasting Notes
This pale pink cava stands out for its aromatic intensity and complexity. On the nose, it reveals the delicate nuances of a rosé cava, where the elegance of violets and roses blends with the richness of ripe red fruits. On the palate, it offers a silky, creamy texture, refined freshness, and balanced acidity. Subtle notes of rye bread complement its character, leaving a long and harmonious finish.
Food
It is especially recommended to enjoy with salted meats, pickled dishes, and fish.
