Region

The chalky slopes and gravel soils that flank the Loire River as it passes through the towns of Anjou and Saumur provide a home to the Chenin Blanc variety, producing dry, medium and dessert wines with good acidity and the Loire Valley`s best sparkling wines. The natural cellars carved into the chalk are ideal for slow maturation of the sparkling Crémant wines made by the traditional bottled fermented method and as mushroom farms!

Producer

Established in 1885, the Bougrier family has managed the winery for six generations. Famile Bougrier represents around 800 hectares of vineyards and is one of the last family-owned companies covering the whole of the Loire Valley area. The L’Artiste range is a tribute to grandfather Jean-Claude who, hiding behind his cap, gave such joy and laughter to those around him with his big heart. He was the teacher and artist behind the wines.
Tasting Notes
This lovely Rosé d`Anjou delivers the classic style from the Loire Valley, with elegance. Made with cool protective fermentation in stainless steel to retain the bright fruit characters it then follows red vinification with short maturation to give a brilliant bright colour. The aromas deliver fresh strawberry and raspberry with hints of candy which follow through on the palate with a fresh sweetness that is balanced by fresh acidity for an off-dry rosé.
Food
A great match for your barbecue and garden party with salads, any spicy food, poultry dishes and of course aperitif.
