Region

There are three distinct `terroirs` of St Emilion; limestone on the raised vineyard areas, clay more predominant on the slopes and gravel and clay combined on the plateau. Pomerol is located in the east of the Bordeaux region, near Saint-Émilion, in the area known as the Libournais – the town of Libourne sits just to the south of Pomerol.
Tasting Notes
Château Clinet is a prestigious Pomerol, located on the plateau of clay and gravel soils that characterises this renowned appellation. Merlot dominates the vineyard, supported by Cabernet Sauvignon, producing wines known for their richness, depth and elegance. The wine offers generous aromas of ripe blackberry, plum and dark cherry, layered with violet, cocoa and subtle spice. The palate is full-bodied and velvety, with concentrated dark fruit, polished tannins and refreshing acidity, leading to a long, refined finish.
Food
This wine would complement fine cuts of steak, roast duck, or braised red meats or game.
