This Vin Doux Naturel is a made from Muscat grapes from around the town of Rivesaltes, near Perpignan. They have preserved their natural perfumed aromas and sweetness by the addition of grape spirit.
Producer
Chateau l`Esparrou was built from 1889 to 1891 by a Danish architect who fell in love with Roussillon. The property owns 60 hectares of vineyards which are situated on hillside sites with clay and pebble soils and benefit from optimum sunshine.
Tasting Notes
A perfumed aromatic dessert wine made from late picked Muscat grapes grown in the shadow of the French Pyrenees in the Catalan region of Roussillon. Amber in colour, with a very aromatic nose of subtle complexity of citrus and exotic fruit. This fragrant, easy drinking dessert wine has a floral scent with hints of honey and raisins. The pleasant sweetness is elegantly balanced with a touch of citrus acidity.
