Region

The Languedoc is a vast region stretching across much of the south and Mediterranean with large volume of IGP wine within the distinct areas of l`Aude, Gard and Hérault and also well known appellations such as Minervois, Corbières, Pic Saint Loup and Fitou. It’s history dates back to the Greeks and Romans as well as monastaries in the Middle Ages. The Languedoc experiences Mediterranean climate with high levels of sunshine and warmth with low rainfall which are all favourable for grape growing. A wide range of grape varieties are grown including Syrah, Grenache and Carignan and the local variety piquepoul making a range of styles of red, white and rosé wines.

Producer

Also called `Clos l`Armet`, this domaine is situated next to Montpellier and has been family run by the Biscaye family for five generations. Emmanuel Biscaye has been in charge since the death of his grandfather over 15 years ago. He was still a student when he inherited the domaine and has worked to update the vineyard and vinification techniques to create wines which are modern and dynamic, but still in keeping with the family traditions.
Tasting Notes
A beautiful organic Chardonnay from the Languedoc region in the south of France. A lovely pale golden colour full of vibrant stone fruits on the nose. On the palate enticing lemon, nectarine and ripe peach characters with a hint of toast. Fresh acidity balances the richness of the wine and gives a long, lasting finish.
Food
Serve chilled as an accompaniment to foie gras, chicken dishes or salmon in a creamy sauce.
