Region

Ardeche is an IGP which covers red, white and rose wines made in southern-central France. Named after the River Ardèche, the Ardèche sits on the western banks of the Rhône river and covers an important part of the northern Rhône vineyards while also bridging into the western side of the southern Rhône. Here Chardonnay is the predominant varietal and benefits from the Ardèche`s Mediterranean climate, where mild winters are followed by hot, dry summers. The cool, northerly Mistral wind is felt throughout the department which can help to extend the ripening period, giving elegance to the final wines.

Producer

The origins of Domaine Louis Latour stretch as far back as 1768 from the village of Aloxe-Corton. The Domaine, still centred on this tiny village, has since grown to become a collection of the finest vineyards in the region, today totalling almost 50 hectares and embracing the most extensive array of Grand Cru vineyards in Burgundy, with 17 of these hectares located in Corton.
Tasting Notes
Golden yellow in colour with green reflections. This Chardonnay comes from 25 year old vines on clay and limestone soils from the village of Ardeche. Bright gold in colour with notes of apple and honeysuckle on the nose. The palate has a soft character with a mouthfilling roundness from time spent on the lees. Apple, floral and stone fruit notes characterise this wine with finishes long with a fresh acidity.
Food
Ideal to accompany grilled fish, charcuterie or poultry dishes
