Saving Bumblebees with Little Bee

Bottle of Little Bee with bumblebee illustrations

We are proud to be a partner of the Bumblebee Conservation Trust*, an organisation dedicated to protecting bumblebee populations through habitat restoration, research, and public education.

To support their vital work, Ellis Wines will donate 50p per bottle of Sandridge Barton's Little Bee sold until 31st December 2025 to the Bumblebee Conservation Trust.

Bumblebees play a vital role in pollinating crops and maintaining healthy ecosystems, yet their numbers have declined dramatically over the past 70 years, with 2024 being the worst year on record in the UK.

About Sandridge Barton

Sandridge Barton is the home of Sharpham Wine, nestled in a sheltered valley on the banks of the River Dart in South Devon. With a winemaking legacy spanning over 40 years, the estate embraces a modern approach rooted in sustainability and minimal intervention. The vineyards benefit from Devon’s mild climate and diverse soils, enabling the production of distinctive, expressive English wines that reflect their coastal terroir.

About Little Bee

An exciting expression of English orange wine, Little Bee is made from 100% Pinot Gris grapes, fermented naturally with indigenous yeasts, with minimal intervention from start to finish and refreshingly lower in alcohol at 10.5%. The nose has layered aromas of pink grapefruit, white nectarine, cider apple and orange peel, with more sour stone fruit flavours on the palate supported by broad and grippy tannins, taught acidity and a long generous finish.
