Ellis Wines auctioned a 9l bottle of Château d’Esclans ‘Whispering Angel’ to raise money for The Benevolent.

The oversized bottle, often referred to as a Salmanazar, was displayed on our stand at the London Wine Fair where visitors could place their bids to win this sought after prize. 

The lucky winner was Peter Hayward from the The Noisy Lobster, bidding £450 which was made up by Ellis to raise a total of £500 for The Benevolent. The Benevolent is the trade charity that provides help and support to current and former employees of the drinks industry and their families. If your job involves alcohol drinks brands and you work in any sector of the trade you are eligible for support.
