Region

One of the five subregions constituating the old "premiers Cotes de Bordeaux" Blaye aswell as the Cotes de Bourg, both sit on the opposite bank of Medoc forming the eastern bank of the Gironde as it flows north of Libourne. The red wines here are gutsy, with ample fruit and a distinct earthy terroir and the whites are classic with traditional Bordelais blends consisting of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Muscadell and international varieties like Colombard. Soil types consist of the typical well draining Gravelly soils along the riverbank but also of rich clays.

Producer

This is 148 acre property is Bordeaux`s most extensive organic vineyard, situated on the right bank of the Gironde on the best limestone and clay soils of Cars, a small commune near Blaye. The 19th century Chateaux is dominated by a magnificent crenellated tower, offering magnificent views over this ancient estate.
