Region

The cool Atlantic influenced vineyards of Gascogny in south west France provide reliable, fresh whites from a combination of Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, and assertive, mineral rich reds from a base of Tannat.

Producer

LGI were created in 1999 by forward thinking partners aware of the challenge and opportunity that lay ahead for regional French wines in the competitive international market. Wines are made and blended from three main sources. Saint Chinian in the Herault, Jean d`Alibert in Minervois and from Gascogny. In the heart of the Languedoc, one of the world’s largest wine regions with an array of diverse climates and terroirs allowing a range of local and international varieties to be grown.
Tasting Notes
From the Cotes de Gascogne in southwest France, this wine takes inspiration from the Potager`s (Kitchen gardens) that are common in that region. Pale yellow in colour, this dry white is a blend of aromatic Sauvignon Blanc and fresh Colombard grapes and has a zesty bouquet of citrus fruits, particularly grapefruit with sweet pepper and nettle notes. These flavours linger on a supple palate, softened by three months age on the lees, with hints of pear and melon and a vivacious acidity on the finish.
Food
Try serving alongside salads, marinated vegetables, poached chicken with tarragon, grilled fish, ravioli or moussaka.
