Region

If you have never tried an English wine before – well now is your opportunity. The vineyards of England are generally located in the warmer southern counties where the milder influences of the gulf stream have an important effect, as our northern hemisphere vineyards need a longer cooler growing season than in Europe to produce top quality grapes. More than 500 vineyards are in production across the UK and bottled annual sales has reached 3 million bottles, with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Bacchus the most planted varieties.

Producer

Lyme Bay Winery is full of people who are passionate about producing English Wines. Founded 25 years ago in Devon they have produced wines of outstading quality that have won awards from prestigious competitions including the International Wine and Spirit Competition, the Decanter World Wine Awards and many more.
Tasting Notes
Lyme Bay is a small, dedicated West Country company passionate about producing delicious and award-winning English Wines. Lyme bay carefully select grapes from vineyards across best growing sites in the South of England. Their Pinot Noir shows the intensity of flavour enabled by long, hot summers in the West country. This wine is aged barrels for 9 months in 30% new oak which is a mix of American and Eastern European. Their award winning English red displays a complex and intense array of black cherries, raspberries and bramble fruit, underpinned by rich toasty oak and Tobacco characters.
