Bodega Reina de Castilla located in La Seca, Valladolid is a group of smaller family vineyards and larger winegrowers who have lived in the region for generations with long winemaking traditions. They combined their experience and wisdom and in the early 2000s and formed a cooperative. There are now a combined total of 220 hectares of vineyards and as of 2009 the installation of a new modern winery with avant-garde technology has allowed the group to produce wines of international prestige.
Tasting Notes
This is a lean and minerally style of the Verdejo variety from Rueda. Fermented in stainless steel this wine has a very clean profile. A bouquet of ripe apricots, pear, and shale on the nose. The palate is filled with flavours of nectarine, cantaloupe, guava, and white flowers. The acidity gives a refreshing citrus zing on the finish.
Food
The limey acidity of this wine allows it to pair very well with a range of foods like Thai green curry, spicy mexican foods and greek salads.
