Region

The Côte de Nuits follows a narrow strip of red iron-rich soils that run the short distance south from Dijon to the town of Nuits St Georges and ends before the hill of Corton. It is perhaps the source of the greatest and most elusive Pinot Noir wines of Burgundy. To travel through this northern half of the Côte d`Or evokes a role call of great vineyard names; Gevrey, Vosne Romanée, Clos de Vougeot, Musigny, Nuits St Georges and more.

Producer

Domaine Belleville was formed in Rully at the beginning of the 20th century, in the heart of the wine-making region of Burgundy. With 28 hectares of vineyards spread out from north to south Burgundy, Domaine Belleville offers distinctive wines full of elegance and finesse. It stands next to Chateau de Messey (Maconnais) and Manoir Murisaltien (Cote d`Or), all of which belong to the Dumont family.
Tasting Notes
Produced from 80 year old vines, this Pinot Noir is aged for 16 months in oak, 35% of which is new oak. It has a deep ruby robe and has blackberry and other berry fruits on the nose with a touch of toasted bread. Full of fruit in the mouth with flavours of blueberry and integrated oak, the wine has complexity and a long, elegant finish.

Food
best served with meat on the grill, Lasagne, Gruyere, Pate
