Region

The Côtes De Bordeaux represent superior vineyards of the Entre Deux Mers, which slope down to the river Garonne and look across the river to Graves. Much of the vineyard is planted with Merlot combined with Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc.

Producer

This fantastic chartreuse property is among the best of the appellation. Situated on the Langoiran hills, this Chateau was built during the second half of the 18th century, by the family of the same name. Today, the property is in the hands of the Gonfrier family. They aim to use each vintage as an opportunity for the terroir to express itself and its diversity. Sustainability is at the heart of what they do with care taken over the environment, biodiversity and social responsibility. The estate comprises of 52 hectares of vines, situated around the valley of the Garonne. The product of an exceptional terroir, the red wines of Château Tanesse are characterized by their deep colour, their aromas of black fruit and a touch of particularly fine tannins.
Tasting Notes
This fantastic chartreuse property is owned by Eric Gonfier a very succesful vignerons and it is among the best of the appellation, producing firm, rich wine from predominately Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Tanesse has classic structure, but in recent vintages and with skilled winemaking this fruit forward style has really delivered a smooth easy drinking red with an extra depth of softness, some subtle oak, ripe tannins, and an excellent balance.
Food
Ideal with roast duck, lasagne and beef in red wine casseroles.
